Members of a colourful Suffolk dance side showed their support for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) by making a donation at the charity’s Halesworth shop.
The Halesworth-based Oxblood Molly Dancers delivered a cheque for £618, as a result of their fundraising endeavours during the last year.
“We were keen to show our support for a local charity and one that does such a wonderful job for our community,” said member Persephone Booth.
“On a personal note, I also chose EACH because I enjoy using its shop in Halesworth. It’s handy, convenient and a lovely place to find some bargains.”
The Oxblood Molly Dancers organised the Halesworth Day of Dance, which took place on 5th April.
The group has been in existence for 20 years and performs its own lighter interpretation of traditional Fenland Molly dancing.
Halesworth shop manager Maria Clark said: “As well as being incredibly grateful for the donation, it was also a real pleasure to meet Persephone, Maureen Hunter, one of the group’s founder members, and Paul Kiff.
“It was lovely to hear more about what they do and also to see their spectacular costumes, which were a vibrant red and black.”
