“As well as having fun together, it gave them an opportunity to forge new friendships and spend time with others in a similar situation” – siblings battle it out during a night of laser tag adventure at Quasar

Youngsters built new friendships while enjoying an adrenaline-charged evening of laser tag adventure.

The ‘Sibz +’ session was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) for older children who are bereaved or have a brother or sister receiving care at The Nook.

Nine youngsters took part, ranging in age from ten to 16, and the session began with two games of laser tag at Quasar, in St Stephens Road, Norwich.

The boys, wearing red battle packs, and the girls, in blue, did battle and enjoyed an hour of high-octane competition.

“Everyone had an incredibly fun time,” said Clare Oakley, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator at The Nook.

“There was lots of friendly competition, among the staff and young people alike.

“However, there were also lots of laughs, and everyone took part in a great spirit.

“For some, it was their first time doing this kind of thing, and they really enjoyed it.

“As well as having fun together, it gave them an opportunity to forge new friendships and spend time with others in a similar situation.”

After playing laser tag, the group had another hour together in the centre’s party area, having something to eat and enjoying each other’s company.

Clare was joined by Lisa Joy, from EACH’s Facilities team, who was helping at her first sibling event.
