Shoppers are being invited to get in the party spirit and help a city centre store celebrate its fifth birthday.
The East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) shop in Colchester High Street opened in 2020, and now staff and volunteers are planning to mark the anniversary with a day of fun on Saturday, 22nd March.
There will be live music, games and a lucky dip, while children can make their own party hats.
“Five years is a special milestone and definitely worth celebrating, especially when you consider the impact of Covid,” said deputy manager Sue Baker.
“It was a very challenging start, and we were forced to close three times, because of government restrictions.
“However, thankfully, we’ve come through that worrying period and are proud of the progress we’ve made.
“We’ve got a great team of volunteers and some lovely, loyal customers. It’s going to be fantastic celebrating together.”
The birthday celebrations are taking place between 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
Sue and shop manager Sammy Mauldin are always keen to hear from anyone interested in volunteering, particularly in the afternoons and to list items on eBay.
