“The children had lots of questions. One, in particular, said she was interested in joining the force when she’s older” – children receiving care and two bereaved siblings find out more about the work of the police

Youngsters had a brush with the law after having the chance to sit behind the wheel of a real-life police car.

The special visit was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and took place at Milton.

Two children receiving care and two bereaved siblings met Police Community Support Officer Karen Davey.

As well as having the chance to find out more about working for the force, they got to try on high-vis vests and police hats.

They also got to sit in a police car, with its blue lights flashing, and look at some of the kit on-board.

Ceri Dobson, EACH’s Groups and Events Co-ordinator, said: “We had a lovely morning and were so grateful to Karen.

“She did such a fantastic job in terms of raising awareness of the role the police force plays in the community.

“The children had lots of questions. One, in particular, said she was interested in joining the police force when she’s older.”
